JOB DESCRIPTION
- Respond to all incidents, including fires, accidents, and hazardous materials incidents, quickly and safely to minimize damage to AD Airports users and assets, and minimize impact on operational capacity.
- Respond to hazardous materials incidents, including fuel spills, and contact all required parties as per standard operating procedures to ensure safety.
- Respond efficiently to all alarm calls, including practice and false alarms, within the timelines set by national and international civil aviation regulations.
- Assist Fire and Rescue Services with their regular activities by operating fire and rescue vehicles as needed while adhering to traffic laws.
- Keep AES cars and appliances in good working order, making sure that nothing is damaged and that the vehicles are prepared for any emergency.
- In order to ensure safe operations during emergencies, fill in for the Sub Fire Officer.
- Engage in frequent training, lectures, and exercises to keep yourself operationally prepared for any eventuality.
- Verify the fire suppression systems and hydrants on AD Airports’ property on a regular basis to make sure they are operational and prepared for emergencies.
- Keep yourself physically fit to carry out duties on the fire ground and successfully save lives in an emergency.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
At least a diploma.
Relevant certifications in the field of firefighting.
Experience:
A minimum of 4 years of experience in a firefighting role or related emergency services.
